Hello. After all the frustrations and hopeless feelings, I
have finally conducted a meeting with my mushroom group that was a success.
Granted I did have to accept tardiness and ignore it. We changed the day to
have the meeting so that may have been the helping factor. The group members
set a goal of 200 cedi to buy mushroom compost bags, and set a deadline of next
week. I couldn’t be happier with the progress.
We were continuing work on the group’s cropping house, and
had to go cut some wood from the bush (forest). I went to help John carry the
wood and carried a huge amount, more than I should have, on my head. It was
quite a struggle but I was trying to prove my worth. I didn’t want the amount I
was carrying to be too small next to the one that John was carrying. It was so
heavy and I felt like my neck was gonna snap. The place we were cutting the
wood was not close to where we were taking it. I made it about ¾ of the way
back and had to drop it off of my head. Now, two days later, my entire body it
still very sore from this endeavor. Weird parts of my body are sore. My ribs,
my back, my legs, my arms… everything hurts. I can carry a good amount of water
on my head but I just overshot the wood thing. I wont be doing that again, that’s
for sure.
That meeting going well really has given me an up beat for
the last couple days, so I have to say that things are going good over here. J
Someone who was visiting the village from out of town came
up to me the other day and said, “Hey, they told me about what you’re doing
here and why you’re here, and I just wanted to say thank you so much”. Finally!
The people in my village understand why I am here! Hahah No but seriously that
was a great moment. There have been times when I overhear people telling others
that I am here to study something.
My cat finally gave birth! Three kittens, one is striped
like her and the other two are white with random spots like that ugly dad.
Those are the ones I will give away. Haha. But im naming one of them Putin.
Last thought- yesterday I made spaghetti sauce from scratch
OMG it was amazing!!! I love spaghetti it was a staple of my college life. I
asked my mom if she wanted to try some and she said it was okay she had tried
it before. Then she called it garlic stew, which I thought was really funny.
