Orientation Day

Here is how today went:
Stayed up until 2am finishing packing and stuff. Slept for two hours, got up at 4am and took a shower. Say goodbye to the nephews which was hard. It was raining the whole way to the airport. I almost immediately fell asleep on the plane, and was nodding in and out the whole time until the flight attendant came by and I got a coffee, then tried to fill out my forms that had to be turned in at orientation. I did not get very far because the plane started descending about then. I met up with some fellow volunteers at baggage. We got a shuttle to our hotel, went out to eat at a really good chinese place, then had orientation.
Orientation was kind of lame but its stuff that they had to go over with us somehow. I felt like I was in high school all over again with the ice breakers and paragraph reading and drawing with scented markers. The good thing is that the people in my group seem really cool. Its kind of awesome to be surrounded by people who understand the decision I have made to join this program. Everyone is here with different stories but we are all in the same boat, and feeling similar feelings. It is also really cool to be with these people because they are either full of traveling stories (which I eat up) or they care about plants/animals/nature, just like me. They seem to have a lot of the same opinions about things as I do, and they all love talking about the places they have been. Its a cool bunch. I do wonder who will make it and who will go home. After orientation was over a bunch of us (if not all) went to a pizza place and got pizza and beers. It was pretty awesome. Now I am exhausted.
